Abdollah Davami: The legendary of Persian vocal music was born in 1899 in Ta a village around Tafresh in Iran.

Davami is famous as the most reliable bearer of vocal radif and tasnifs. He founded his own repertoire, which contains some strange pieces, which belongs to instrumental radif repertoire and he added them to vocal radif repertoire.

He is not only a radif legendary, but famous as a nobel tasnif bearer. He studied by Ali Khan Nayeb os-Saltane vocal radif music, by Mirza Hosseyngholi and Mirza Abdollah instrumental radif music, by Sama Hozur and Haji Khan Eyn od-Dole vocal rhythmic compositions (tasnif) and tonbak (Persian Goblet Drum).

Haji Khan revived Davami’s interest very much, so that Davami spent many years with him and learned many things from him. Man believes Davami knew all of old tasnifs very well and is a fine tasnif bearer as a reliable reference for all those musicians, who had questions about old tasnifs.

Davami attended the second recording session of Darvish Khan to Tiflis before the First World War. The records of this journey were sent to Berlin but not all of them arrived to Tehran. Under the survived records there are some compositions of Aref Ghazvini, which were sung by Davami. In this journey were the following musicians there:

Darvish Khan, Seyyed Hosseyn Taherzade, Abolhassan Eghabl and Bagher Khan.

He educated many students like Abolhassan Saba, Mahmud Karimi, Faramarz Payvar, Nasrollah Nassehpoor and etc.

He passed away in 1980.
